One of the title industry’s biggest challenges is hiring and training new talent. Not to mention the difficulty in recruiting young people with no interest in the industry—simply because they don’t even know it exists. This means that recruiting starts by talking about our profession in terms that are understandable, relatable, and inspirational. The key is looking at the big picture of what we do. So, for example, you can get people excited about the fact that they get to help people buy homes!
Another opportunity to attract talent is offering high school and college internships to introduce what a title industry career can look like and the available growth. Providing students with opportunities to learn by working on essential projects keeps people engaged in the industry. I think it’s a unique industry in that you can really grow your career and move into some very significant roles, well-paying roles as well.
