The latest opening adds to their national plan of organic expansion from coast-to-coast. The new office represents the fourth market expansion in twelve months and is evidence of the title agents preference for an alternative agent-centric partner.

Susan Wenzel, formerly with First American will lead the team as the state agency manager. Susan comes to Westcor with over thirty years of experience. Accompanying her is Scott Sumner, formerly with Chicago Title who will serve as state counsel. Joining the team from Fidelity National is Chris Marra as the New Jersey operations manager and Susan Ney as the office administrator. All with many years of title industry experience.

Chris Strynar, a longtime veteran of the title industry in the Northeast, will lead the team as the regional manager. Harold Clarke will serve as senior underwriter for New England. The remaining members of the team are spread throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut providing consistent high quality service to independent title agents.

Westcor Land Title Insurance Company (Westcor), announced today the launch of the National Agency Division. The new division is dedicated to the expansion of independent title agents who write business in multiple states. The team will include Barbara Allen, Division Manager, Sara Hewitt, Vice President of National Accounts, Kimberly Sledd, National Agency Representative and Chris Skinner, National Corporate Coordinator. 

The team encompasses extensive expertise in the national arena. With 23 years in-depth, multi-state experience, Barbara Allen will lead the team with Sara Hewitt who has overseen the last five years of Westcor’s national expansion. Kimberly Sledd, Fidelity National Title, formerly LandAmerica, is the newest member of the team with six years of experience and Chris Skinner with five years of industry experience in title, information technology and agency.

Westcor’s National Agency Division was formed out of demand from the growing number of multi-state agents looking for an underwriter who provided a relationship built on trust and integrity and gives their agents access to all decision makers without competing for their customers. Kimberly Sledd joins the newly formed National Agency Division.  Based in Virginia, Sledd will initially serve a dual role as an agency representative for National and Mid-Atlantic agents.

Will Townsend, assistant state production manager will operate from Westcor’s South Florida Title Plant and he will assist in the management of title production.  Townsend brings over 20 years of industry experience.

Ross Wagner, agency representative will lead the further expansion of Westcor into the Ohio and Western Pennsylvania markets. Wagner brings 20 years of industry experience.

Walter (Bud) Whisler will further expand the Mid-West Region. Whisler brings 30 years of industry experience. He will support the development and growth in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin and South Dakota in his role as regional manager.

According to third quarter results released by the American Land Title Association (ALTA), Westcor increased 83% in gross premiums compared to the same period of 2008. Westcor Land Title Insurance Company’s online application, “eWestcor” has just recently updated its Closing Letters Module allowing for edits to existing letters and added a few other enhancements to the app such as a favorite lender list as well.

The enhancement allows the agents to quickly edit an existing closing letter (which is a key part of the title insurance and closing process) when changes come back from the lender and reprint it with just a few clicks.  The favorite lender list also increases the speed at which the agents can get into the system, create a new closing letter, and print it.
