History of Westcor
Westcor was formerly known as Nevada Title Insurance Company and was originally formed and owned by NTC Global. Nevada Title remained fairly idle with licenses in a few states and acting as the reliable back up underwriter for the agent owner. However, this regional company had a national vision.
Motherlode Holding Company became part owner of Nevada Title Insurance Company and the name was changed to Westcor Land Title Insurance Company to acknowledge the demand of service on a regional and national level. Westcor is licensed in nine states.
Westcor Land Title redomesticates from Nevada to California.
Title insurance underwriters continue to merge and consolidate diminishing title agents’ opportunity for independence. Westcor embraces the independent title agents and becomes “the agent’s underwriter.”
Mary O’Donnell is hired to lead Westcor and expands the agency base and coverage. Westcor opens a corporate office location in Maitland, FL which is quickly outgrown and moved to Winter Park, FL.
Westcor is licensed in ten states and growing. A national select growth plan is put in place to identify and engage independent agents from coast-to-coast.
Westcor launches a Seminar Series to provide independent agents with continued education and encourage further industry expertise.
Westcor opens Western Agency Operations in Denver, Colorado. Westcor is now licensed in 20 states nationwide.
Westcor logo is updated to identify their coast-to-coast presence. Westcor also opens a New York regional office to support independent title agents and expand presence in the North East.
Westcor opens an office in Boise, Idaho to support independent title agents in the mountain states region and is now licensed in 23 states.
Westcor vision to support independent agents is reality. With six regional offices nationwide, licenses in 30 states, Westcor supports over 700 independent title agents.
